We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Senior Support Workerto join ourChildren and Young People's Eating Disorders Team. This is a unique o...

  • Support young people with daily routines, mealtimes, and structured therapeutic activities.
  • Provide practical and emotional support to young people and families in line with individual care plans.
  • Assist in delivery of therapeutic interventions and psychoeducational sessions under the supervision of qualified staff.
  • Promote recovery, independence, and positive coping strategies.
  • Observe, monitor, and report any changes in presentation, behaviour, or physical health to senior staff.
  • Contribute to creating a therapeutic and safe environment

Qualifications

Essential

  • Foundation degree in relevant subject or Diploma/NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care or accredited prior learning with competency based evidence supplemented by short courses

Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience of working with children with Mental Health Needs as a member of a multidisciplinary community team Experience of working within a multi-agency framework
  • Experience of formulating a child's difficulties and developing a care plan
  • Experience of employing evidenced based interventions with children
  • Experience of supporting other workers and role modelling recommended approaches / interventions in practice.

Desirable

  • Experience of working with children with Mental Health Needs as a member of a multidisciplinary community team Experience of working within a multi-agency framework
  • Experience of working with people who may have Mental Health concerns
  • Experience of working with young people with eating disorders

Skills

Essential

  • Ability to take part in reflective practice and clinical supervision activities.
  • Ability to deal with non- routine and unpredictable nature of workload and individual patient/ service user contact.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written, verbal and non- verbal communication) with patients/relatives and carers and all members of the multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to develop effective and appropriate relationships with people, their families, carers and colleagues.
