To provide an effective and efficient speech and language therapy service to a caseload of clients who have a neurological condition, including those with complex needs in a variety of settings. Duties will include assessment, diagnosis, therapy (both group and/or individual as appropriate), planning therapy programmes and discharge of patients

Qualifications and Education

Essential

  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy or Equivalent
  • Registered with HCPC

Knowledge and Training

Essential

  • Good knowledge of IT software packages eg word, excel
  • Post graduate experience and knowledge of SLT assessments and treatment of neurological patients
  • Robust knowledge of best practice and clinical guidelines

Desirable

  • Leadership training

Experience

Essential

  • Relevant experience at postgraduate level
  • Experience of working in an MDT

Desirable

  • Experience of supervising and appraising staff
  • Experience of working in the community

Communication & relationship skills

Essential

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Desirable

  • Experience of facilitating service development

Physical

Essential

  • Demonstrate ability to commute to meet the demands of the service.
  • Physical ability to undertake the role.
