The Children's Speech & Language Therapy Team aims to provide a high quality service to children, young people and their families. We provide assessment, interventions, and advice to children and young people aged 0-19 with a Coventry GP. We also support children in Coventry special schools and specialist settings with an Education, Health & Care Plan. We have developed clinical pathways and a competency programme in Speech, Language, Voice , Stammering, Dysphagia, Deafness, Cleft Palate, Alternative & Augmentative Communication and young children "At Risk" of SLCN.Further information about the team can be found on our website: www.coventrychildrensslt.co.uk
As a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist, you will:
- Assess, plan and deliver evidence-based interventions for children and young people with speech, language and communication needs.
- Work with other speech and language therapists and speech and language therapy assistants in the team.
- Work in partnership with parents, carers, education staff and health professionals.
- Work in a variety of settings across community, education and clinic.
- Deliver training to support the wider childrens workforce.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and outcome measures.
- Participate in service development activities and quality improvement projects.
- Support less experienced colleagues, providing clinical supervision and mentoring.
- Have service wide responsibilities.
We are looking for someone who
- Holds a recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
- Is registered with the HCPC.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is enthusiastic, compassionate and committed to achieving the best outcomes for children and young people.
- Values collaborative working and is keen to learn and develop professionally.
- Can work independently whilst also contributing positively as part of a wider team.

Qualifications
Essential
- SLT degree
- HCPC registered
- Post graduate training relevant to client group
Experience
Essential
- SLT clinical experience of working with children with a variety of clinical needs
- Experience in the development and delivery of training
- Experience of multi-agency / professional working
Other
Essential
- Ability to travel independently across the city on a regular basis
