An Exciting opportunity has arisen within our Emergency Department for Band 7 ED Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to join our team at Dewsbury and District ...

Clinical Leadership & Role Modelling: Maintain a nursing culture which is open to change, new ideas and concepts. Lead, motivate, and support nurses and clinical support workers; foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, wellbeing, and continuous improvement.

Professional Development: Provide mentorship, clinical supervision, and learning opportunities; actively pursue your own professional development and encourage the same across the team.

Operational & Resource Management: Manage staffing, rotas and equipment to ensure smooth, cost-effective, safe delivery of care.

Collaboration: Work closely with the ED clinical educators and Quality and Safety lead.

Essential person specification requirements

  • Registered Nurse
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
  • Recent post registration experience in an emergency setting.
  • Evidence of competency in teaching and assessing
  • Evidence of further study within speciality

  • Substantial post registration experience with proven experience at team leader level
  • Relevant experience in specialty
  • Evidence of previous resource management experience
  • Experience in research and audit.

  • Clear and concise written English skills
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Analytical skills
  • Ability to manage own workload
  • Ability to talk to patients and relatives in a friendly manner
