Data Lead Responsibilities/Reception Duties As Required

  • Support the achievement of Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF), Local Quality Contracts and other enhanced services.
  • Run searches and produce reports using EMIS Web to identify patients requiring review, recall or follow-up.
  • Support population health management initiatives and proactive patient care programmes.
  • Monitor and improve data quality within the clinical system.
  • Assist with contract monitoring, performance reporting and service improvement projects.
  • Identify opportunities to maximise practice income through accurate coding, recalls and achievement of contractual targets.
  • Support audits, quality improvement initiatives and practice development projects.
  • Liaise with clinical and administrative staff to ensure data is recorded accurately and consistently.
  • Assist with managing access demand and patient recall systems.
  • Provide professional and courteous support to patients, clinicians and colleagues.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls efficiently and appropriately.
  • Receive and assist patients attending the surgery.
  • Support prescription and document processing in line with practice procedures.
  • Signpost patients to appropriate services both within and outside the practice.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality at all times.

The post holder will work closely with the Practice Manager and Deputy Practice Manager to support the delivery of key practice objectives.

Reception and Administrative Responsibilities

  • Provide professional and courteous support to patients, clinicians and colleagues.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls efficiently and appropriately.
  • Receive and assist patients attending the surgery.
  • Process and action clinical and administrative tasks within EMIS Web.
  • Manage patient registrations, records and correspondence.
  • Support prescription and document processing in line with practice procedures.
  • Signpost patients to appropriate services both within and outside the practice.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality at all times.
  • Provide cover for reception and administrative functions as required.
  • Build positive working relationships with all members of the multidisciplinary team

Qualifications

Essential

  • Essential
  • GCSE Grade C Level 4 or above in English and Mathematics or equivalent.
  • Evidence of relevant administrative training or experience.

Desirable

  • Further qualifications in administration, business or healthcare management.
  • Care Navigation training.
  • EMIS Web training certificates.
