The paediatric Spinal Surgery Department provides a secondary service, together with a busy tertiary service which forms a large proportion of our wor...

The main purpose of this role would be to provide a clinical service in Spinal surgery including elective clinics, elective lists and ward supervision.

The role will also support the Paediatric Orthopaedic junior doctor on call rota every one in three Fridays.

Qualified FRCS and at least four years' full time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in orthopaedic surgery or as a fixed term specialty trainee in orthopaedic surgery or shall have the equivalent experience and competencies. In addition at least two year's experience should have been gained in a post involving paediatric cases.

Qualifications & Training

Essential

  • Medical Degree
  • Significant full-time postgraduate training (or equivalent gained on part-time or flexible basis), at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in orthopaedic surgery or as a fixed term specialty trainee in orthopaedic surgery
  • Experience of spinal surgery
  • Postgraduate Qualification

Desirable

  • FRCS
  • Experience of paediatric spinal surgery
