You would be expected to work alongside the established psychologists and counsellors within the service, delivering support to colleagues who refer in and contributing to supervision, governance and service evaluation/development.Strengths will be in psychological formulation which draws on a range of models, and the ability to communicate and share psychological thinking with colleagues. Also important will be the ability in the postholder to work at a systemic level, develop practice and take forward a project within the service.
Key duties of the role include
- Providing psychological consultations to individual staff who refer into the service around a concern which is impacting them at work
- Offering consultancy to managers around team issues
- Designing and delivering interventions with staff teams
- Developing and delivering psychologically informed groups
- Helping to deliver our pathway for staff experiencing distressing and potentially traumatic incidents at work, including preventative work, post-event support to teams and trauma therapy to individuals
- Utilising research skills for audit, service evaluation/development and research within the service.
- Providing supervision to other psychological professionals within the service e.g. trainee psychologists, counsellors
- Working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies & procedures

- Monthly reflective practice within the team
- Opportunity to work within a well established and integrated Psychological Professions Network, which provides access to regular CPD meetings, organisational support and opportunities to connect with psychological professionals working across the Trust.
- Support to develop supervision and teaching skills, with clinical psychology trainees through both the University of Leicester and University of Oxford Clinical Psychology Doctoral training programmes and/or counselling psychology trainees.

Qualifications
Essential
- Doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology or equivalent
- Eligible/Registered with HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist
Desirable
- Post Qualification training in relevant clinical approaches
- Training in providing supervision
- Training in a specific trauma focused therapy (e.g. EMDR, trauma focused CBT)
Experience
Essential
- Experience working within adult mental health
- Experience/understanding of the unique context of working in the NHS
- Experience providing interventions across a range of complex presentations
Desirable
- Experience providing supervision
- Experience providing consultation/reflective practice
- Experience providing psychological support to staff
- Experience working with staff teams
- Experience in research, audit and/or service evaluation
