Place of Safety is a safe space where police bring individual under section section136/ section 135 of the Mental Health Act 1983 to assessed. Police ...

  • To undertake unsupervised assigned tasks within the ward/clinical team and report the outcomes to a qualified nurse.
  • Assist in the provision of care.
  • To provide support, where appropriate to relatives and carers.
  • To work in support of the qualified nurses and be directed and supervised by them to undertake assigned tasks.
  • To mentor and support junior nursing assistants as required by the Nurse in charge

Education, qualifications or training

Essential

  • Good general education qualifications
  • IT Literate
  • English and Maths at GCSE grade C or equivalent

Continuous Professional Development

Essential

  • Desire to undertake further training and self-improvement to support patient experience

Previous Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience (at least 6 months) working as a Band 2 Support Worker in a Place of Safety

Knowledge, skills and abilities

Essential

  • Good oral and written communication

Additional Requirements

Desirable

  • Ability to travel to multiple sites
