Qualifications
Essential: - Full registration (and with a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC); - MRCP
Experience
Essential: - Must have completed at least 4 years full time postgraduate training at least 1 of which must be in Medicine specialties
Desirable: - Current experience of working within the NHS
Research
Essential
- Able to appraise research
- Understanding of Evidence Based Medicine
- Understanding of the principles of medical audit and clinical governance
- Completed at least one audit project related to General Medicine
Management & administrative experience
Essential: - Understanding of the current structure of Health Services
Desirable: - Familiar with the recent initiatives and changes in NHS
Teaching
Essential: - A demonstrable interest in teaching; - Evidence of teaching medical students, nursing or paramedical staff
Other
Essential
- Communication skills - to have language competency and communication skills necessary to do the job safely & competently
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members, patients, relatives, GPs, nurses and other agencies
- Commitment to Continuing Medical Education and the requirements of Clinical Governance and Audit
