We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled orthopaedic surgeon with keen interest and experience in hip surgery - specifically wanting to be trained in hip replacement, arthroscopy and periacetabular osteotomy.
The candidate must be post MRCS, have at least 36 months Orthopaedic experience and have obtained full registration with the General Medical Council of the United Kingdom.
We are seeking candidates for a start date of October 2027, and the post is for 12 months.

Knowledge and Qualifications
Essential
- Eligible for full GMC Registration and possess MRCS (or equivalent)
- Clinical Knowledge commensurate with ST8 trauma and orthopaedic surgery training

- Higher Academic Degree
Experience
Essential
- Excellence clinical skills Capacity to use and develop a wide range of theoretical approaches.
- Proven ability and commitment to carry out high quality research, leading to publication.
- Involvement in the clinical audit process and an understanding of its aims and objectives.

- Understanding and proven ability to apply research findings in a clinical / organisational context.
Skills and Abilities

- All aspects of orthopaedic surgery
- Trauma surgery

- General basic trauma operative skills
Communication
Essential
- Ability to act as a consistent reference point in a team and to take a leadership role where needed.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work load, to delegate responsibilities as appropriate and to supervise staff.
Desirable
- Lecturing experience with a range of disciplines.
Audit Management & IT
Essential
- The ability to undertake and manage clinical audits including supervision of junior staff.

- Ability, enthusiasm and commitment to teach in a clinical setting.
- Ability to motivate, inspire and support multi-professional team and be able to work effectively and sensitively within such teams.
