Qualifications
Essential
- Full registration (and with a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC)
- MRCP or equivalent
- ALS
Desirable
- Research qualifications (PhD, MSc, Diploma or equivalent)
Experience
Essential
- Must have completed at least two years' full- time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least one of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty
- Must have equivalent experience and competencies
- Experience within the specialty in the UK
Desirable
- Current experience of working within the NHS
- Previous experience in a multidisciplinary setting
Teaching
Essential
- A demonstrable interest in teaching
- Evidence of teaching medical students, nursing or paramedical staff
Desirable
- Experience with audit, teaching or research/critical review of literature
Other

- Good communication skills, both oral and written
- Organised with work
- Clear reasoning and diagnostic skills
- Ability to seek and give advice when necessary
