Senior Assistant Technical Officer – Technical Services

The post holder duties will include the supervision and training of ATO's, Pre-registration Pharmacy Technicians and Pre-registration pharmacists.The candidate must have hospital Aseptic experience and be prepared to work towards the NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent if they do not already possess this.

The post includes supervisory responsibilities e.g., in-process checking, ensuring daily and weekly tasks are complete, assisting the Technician in running the day-to-day services. You must be able to demonstrate an ability to work with some degree of autonomy and possess both manual and mental dexterity. The physical aspects of the work do involve some prolonged periods of sitting, walking & standing.

The successful candidate will require excellent communication skills and enjoy both an individual challenge and working as part of a dynamic team.

Qualifications

Essential: - General education qualifications. GCSE (A-C) Maths, English, Science

Desirable: - Further education qualifications

Experience

Essential: - Experience of working in a clean room.

Desirable: - Ward top up experience; - Proven experience of dispensing medicinal products.

Essential: - Familiar with basic principles of mathematics, especially arithmetic; - Good communication skills; - Manual manipulation skills; - Good record keeping skills
