To support the

operational delivery of day to day reporting across the system, focusing on

financial reporting, contracting monitoring, and performance analysis, including:

  • Analyse utilisation of health and care

resources at locality and neighbourhood level

  • Benchmark published productivity data and

ICB/provider expenditure

  • Provide a solid activity and costing data
  • In year monitoring of financial performance

including ERF and other activity monitoring

  • Provide provider and place-based performance

analytics against national standards, constitutional targets, and locally

commissioned objectives

  • Design, build and

maintain routine reports/dashboards (Power BI/Excel) for performance standards

(RTT, A&E/UEC, diagnostics, cancer, mental health, primary care) to meet

the ICB delivery plans and NHSE/I assurance programmes

  • Ensure reporting

solutions reflect current and future national standards and NHS data

definitions

  • Translate service priorities into analysis

plans and measurable KPIs

  • To support and lead on

the delivery of analytical solutions that support current and future business

transformation programmes

  • Responsible for

  • Automate reporting

pipelines; improve semantic layers and standard definitions. Implement proactive

data quality monitoring with automated notification.

  • Work with Information

teams to develop business rules for automated data cleansing to ensure datasets

are available with optimum data quality

  • Demonstrate

effective problem-solving skills and the ability to respond to sudden

unexpected demands

  • Demonstrate

ability to analyse complex facts and situations and develop a range of options

  • Take decisions on

difficult and contentious issues where there may be a number of courses of

action.

  • Demonstrate the

ability to anticipate and resolve problems before they arise

analysis on the operation of the system. Translating service priorities into

analysis plans and measurable KPIs, including health inequalities.

  • Design, build and maintain routine reports/dashboards (Power BI/Excel)

for performance standards (RTT, A&E/UEC, diagnostics, cancer, mental

health, primary care) to meet the ICB delivery plans and NHSE/I assurance

programmes.

  • Conduct quality and peer review for analyst outputs both for their own

area and across the team

  • To promote analysis and evidence, ensuring that the work of the team is

accessible and perceived as valuable.

  • To encourage system colleagues to draw on data, analysis and evidence in

setting out and implementing their delivery plans. Engaging stakeholders to

refine requirements and communicate insights clearly.

Skills and Abilities

Essential

  • Good working knowledge of Power Bi, Excel and Microsoft SQL Server. Experiencing in generating reports in a visualisation tool
  • Experiencing in generating reports in a visualisation tool
  • Must be able to provide and receive highly complex, sensitive or contentious information, negotiate with ICS partners and Providers on difficult and controversial issues, and present complex and sensitive information to large and influential groups

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent level of experience of supporting project/ programme delivery.
  • Must have an understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy
  • Have an appreciation of the relationship between the Department of Health, the ICB/ICS and individual provider and commissioning organisations

Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrate an understanding of datasets and data sources including the quality and reliability of the data.
  • Experience of triangulating data from different sources and demonstrate an appreciation of the differences that might occur in large datasets.
  • Good working knowledge with relevant analysis software including Microsoft Excel, Power BI, SQL Server or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of specialist areas including health and service redesign acquired through degree or equivalent experience or training
