Qualification

Essential

  • Degree or Diploma in OT
  • HCPC registration

Desirable

  • Fieldwork educators course
  • Evidence of post graduate CPD

Skill

Essential

  • Ability to work single-handedly with individuals and groups
  • Ability to manage own workload and determine priorities
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Ability to reflect and critically appraise own performance
  • Good understanding of how the OT role relates within the acute NHS setting
  • Knowledge of evidence based practice

Desirable

  • Training and facilitation skills
  • Use of an electronic patient record

Experience

Essential

  • Evidence of sound discharge planning in the acute sector.
  • Experience as an OT some of which must be in the acute NHS physical sector.
  • Documented evidence of CPD.

Desirable

  • Experience of research and audit
  • Advice and informal supervision to support staff and students
