An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Midlands and North West Bowel Cancer Screening Programme Team based at Hospital of St Cross, Rugby for t...
Answer the National Bowel Cancer Screening Helpline, responding to individuals in a professional and courteous manner and providing advice and guidance on the National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme in accordance with departmental and national policies and guidance.
Provide laboratory support following the return of Bowel Cancer Screening Faecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) kits, including the preparation, opening, and logging of samples. This will involve the operation of electronic sample-opening equipment.
Assist with the production and distribution of bulk communications, including screening invitations and related correspondence, using specialist packing and mailing machinery.
Complete administrative processes relating to the Symptomatic FIT Pathway, including the preparation and dispatch of patient sample packs.

Qualification /Training
Essential
- GCSE numeracy and literacy qualifications or equivalent.
Desirable
- NVQ level 2 in relevant discipline (eg Administration; Customer care; ICT) or equivalent.
Experience
Essential
- Experience of working in a busy administration environment.
Desirable
- Experience in a customer facing role.
- Experience of dealing with people over the telephone.
- Experience of a laboratory environment.
- Experience of working under pressure and to meet deadlines.
- NHS experience.
Knowledge
Essential
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, in particular Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Understanding of general office procedures.
Desirable
- Knowledge of Bowel Cancer screening programme.
