We are looking to recruit a Band 5 School Nurse to join our expanding School Health Plus Service. The School Health Plus service is directly aligned t...
The post holder will develop links with the wider public health nursing team to ensure continuity of care and to safeguard the children. The school nurse will provide clinical expertise to the multi-disciplinary and multi-agency teams and act as a source of advice to parents/carers, children, young people and other health care professionals. The post holder will contribute to public health initiatives and activity in the school and health promotion activities which support the school population, as well as the school community.
Please note this post is for a full time all year contract (and not annualised/term-time hours). This will allow the post holder to work during some school breaks alongside other staff in supporting children and their families during these times

Qualifications
Essential
- Registered General Nurse/Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse/Registered Children's Nurse/Registered Mental Health Nurse/Registered Midwife
Knowledge
Essential
- Knowledge of School Nursing for children and young people
- Knowledge of community health and public health priorities to improve health outcomes
- Presentation and teaching skills
- Safeguarding Children Training
- Develop packages of care
Experience
Essential
- Assessing need and planning outcomes
- Basic IT Skills
- Co-facilitating immunisation sessions
