- Provide high-quality clinical care to patients in accordance with the latest guidance and best practice standards.
- Undertake a range of consultations including face-to-face, telephone and online appointments.
- Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.
- Contribute to clinical meetings, case discussions, and quality improvements initiatives.
- Participate in management of patients with chronic disease and complex needs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using our clinical system.
- Support the practice in achieving QOF, enhanced services, and other performance targets.

Accountable to: The Partners - Clinically, Practice Manager Administratively
Job summary. To work as an autonomous practitioner,
responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population,
delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS
contract. Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for
good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the
practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working
relationship with the multidisciplinary team.
The
following are the core responsibilities of the Salaried GP. There may be on
occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon

delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract
Generic
prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
Effective
management of long-term conditions
Processing
of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, lab reports,
Workflow documents, repeat prescription requests and other associated
administrative tasks
Any
private work done during the working day i.e. PMAs, medical reports, will be
carried as part of normal duties and all fees received for such remain the
property of the Practice
accordance with the practice timetable, the post-holder will make themselves
available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations,
video consultations, telephone consultations and queries, covering urgent care
duties and visiting patients at home
Maintain
accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and
guidance
Working
collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
Adhere
to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
Contribute
to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality
initiatives within the practice
Accept
delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) of the QOF
Attend
and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
Contribute
effectively to the development and maintenance of the practice including;
clinical governance, training, financial management and HR
Ensure
compliance with the appraisal process
Prepare
and complete the revalidation process
Commit
to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development
across the practice team
Support
the training of medical students from all clinical disciplines
the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making
recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure
Review
and adhere to practice protocols and policies at all times
Encourage
collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a culture
of continuous improvement at all times
In
general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties
and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care
2 Secondary Responsibilities
In addition to the primary responsibilities, the salaried GP
in practice audits as requested by the audit lead
in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care
in the review of significant and near-miss events applying a structured
approach i.e. root cause analysis (RCA)
This document may be amended following consultation with the
post holder, to facilitate the development of the role, the practice and the
individual. All personnel should be prepared to accept additional, or surrender
existing duties, to enable the efficient running of the practice.

6 Prevention and Control of Healthcare Associated Infection
The post holder is expected to comply with Practice
Infection Control Policies and conduct themselves at all times in such a manner
as to minimise the risk of healthcare associated infection.
To preserve and improve the quality of our output, all
personnel are required to think not only of what they do, but how they achieve
it. By continually re-examining our processes, we will be able to develop and
improve the overall effectiveness of the way we work. The responsibility for
this rests with everyone working within the practice to look for opportunities
to improve quality and share good practice.
This practice continually strives to improve work processes
which deliver health care with improved results across all areas of our service
provision. We promote a culture of continuous improvement, where everyone
counts and staff are permitted to make suggestions and contributions to improve
our service delivery and enhance patient care.
The post holder has responsibility for the timely and
accurate creation, maintenance and storage of records in accordance with
Practice policy, including email documents and with regard to the GDPR, The
Freedom of Information Act and any other relevant statutory requirements.

10 Safeguarding
The practice is committed to safeguarding and promoting the
welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff
to share its commitment.
The security of the practice is the responsibility of all
personnel. Staff must ensure they remain vigilant at all times and report any
suspicious activity immediately to their line manager. Under no circumstances
are staff to share the codes for the door locks to anyone and are to ensure
that restricted areas remain effectively secured.
Assist
with safeguarding for both children and vulnerable adults using local guidance
and referral criteria
Understand
basic legal and communication issues regarding child abuse, family violence,
vulnerable adults, substance misuse and addictive behaviour
The Nile Practice is a friendly, well-established practice providing high-quality care to our local community. We have a list size of around 10,000 patients across 3 sites, Cheslyn Hay, Cannock and Hednesford. Our current team includes 2 Partners, 4 ANP's, a multidisciplinary team including Practice Nurses, Healthcare Assistant, Clinical Pharmacist, Mental Health Counsellor, Physiotherapist and Social Prescriber.
