The role is to provide excellent patient care via a mix of:
Pre booked.
Routine appointments.
Urgent on the day appointments.
Triage duties that are part of a rota.
Managing all associated paperwork and test results.
Care planning for more complex patients.
Home visits (occasionally when the home visiting team are not available).
Peer support via coffee breaks and regular clinical meetings.
Supporting GP trainees with education and supervision.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic salaried GP, with a view to partnership. This is for 6 sessions per week.
The successful candidate will provide a broad range of general medical services to our registered patient population.
We have 15 minute appointments with a coffee break, mid-morning.
Offering a mix of pre-booked, routine appointments or urgent on the day appointments.
On a rota for triaging urgent appointments.
Telephone follow up appointments (booked by the GPs).
Medication reviews and prescribing.
All associated paperwork including referrals and interpretation of investigations.
Contributing to QOF and other practice quality initiatives.
Safeguarding and appropriate follow-up of patients.
Participation in clinical meetings and practice activities.
Working collaboratively with our wider multidisciplinary team.

Stratton Medical Centre is a busy town practice on the outskirts of Bude. We have over 10,700 patients who are looked after by an integrated team of 9 GPs, 2 Nurse Practitioners, a Paramedic, 2 Nurses, 3 Health Care Assistants and a Phlebotomist.
As part of a wider Primary Care Network (PCN), our GP team also benefit from a clinical pharmacist, a home visiting paramedic, a social prescriber and health and wellbeing coach. We also have a team of staff who work with more vulnerable adults including diabetics, learning disabled and the frail elderly. All these staff contribute to managing our patient group.
We are a well organised team that is led by a Practice Manager and 2 GP Partners. We benefit from being able to respond quickly to situations and to listening to our staff to ensure that we remain a happy, well functioning team.
We all meet every morning to ensure we are aware of the issues for the day and pick up any concerns that may be present.
We also have regular team meetings, for all staff, to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to input into decisions or raise concerns.

Essential
- Experienced in UK general practice.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Organised, reliable and adaptable.
Qualifications
Essential
- - GMC registered and on the NHS Performance List.
