We are looking to recruit a Salaried GP for 2 sessions per week (Thursday) with the potential to increase sessions and future partnership to join our ...

  • In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
  • Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
  • Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
  • Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
  • Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols
  • Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
  • In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

Greasby Group Practice has 2 GP Partners, we also have 2 Salaried GP's and as a teaching practice we also have GP's in training and medical students.

We are a suburban practice with approximately 6500 patients and are also part of Healthier West Wirral PCN.

Our wider team consists of ANP's, Nursing Team, Administrators and Reception Team.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Qualified GP/MRCGP (or equivalent)
  • Full GMC Registration, without restriction
  • Medical Performers List registration
  • Eligibility to practice independently, in the UK

Desirable: - Appropriate defence indemnity

Experience

Essential

  • Excellent level of clinical knowledge and skills and able to provide best practice and compliant patient care.
  • Excellent clinical consultation communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong IT Skills
  • Effective time management
  • Able and willing to contribute to multi-professional working
  • Familiar with CQC framework & compliance
  • Problem solver with the ability to process information accurately and effectively, interpreting data as required
  • Ability to follow clinical policies, protocols and procedures
  • Familiar with clinical IT systems and referral pathways (we have EMIS Web Docman 10 Accurx & Ardens)

Desirable: - Willing and able to lead on a clinical speciality or project; - Interest in teaching supervision and/or mentoring
