Job description

Symphony Healthcare Services is offering an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and motivated GPs to join Symphony North, serving the thriving commu...

As a Symphony GP, you will undertake the full range of clinical responsibilities expected of a GP in primary care, while avoiding many of the financial and operational risks associated with partnership. This allows you to focus on what matters most: delivering excellent patient care and developing your career.

Unlike traditional GP partnerships, all of our GPs are employed, providing the security and benefits of employment alongside the flexibility and professional fulfilment of working within a modern, innovative primary care organisation.

At Symphony, we are committed to putting patients first. Our GPs work collaboratively across the service and have opportunities to contribute to a wide variety of initiatives.

This creates a rewarding and varied role, with opportunities to shape the future of primary care. For those earlier in their GP career, we provide a clearly defined job plan outlining expected hours, responsibilities and key duties, ensuring the support and structure needed to thrive.

If you would like an informal conversation about our GP opportunities, please contact our People Services team at SHS.GPRecruitment@Somersetft.nhs.uk.

Join Symphony and be part of a supportive, forward-thinking organisation where you can build the career you want while making a real difference to the communities we serve.

Established in 2016, Symphony Healthcare Services (Symphony) provides NHS primary care provision across 21 sites within Somerset, linked to 14 general practice contracts. The organisation cares for approximately 132,000 patients and employs around 600 staff.

Symphony is a subsidiary of Somerset NHS Foundation Trust and manages its services through the support of a central team (including HR, finance, corporate and operational governance).

Providing NHS services is at the heart of what we do. Specifically, our vision is to be at the forefront of sustainable, high quality general practice, collaborating with our communities to improve experiences and health outcomes. We work closely with our practice teams to grow, enhance, and transform our services for the benefit of patients and staff.

Symphony welcomes applications from people of all backgrounds and underrepresented groups. When undertaking recruitment and selection for our services, Symphony is committed to equality opportunity for all.

Symphony offers an NHS or NEST Pension, a fantastic range of employee benefits and salary sacrifice schemes (see attached poster), along with flexible working from day one of employment and an agile approach to hybrid working (where applicable).

We look forward to hearing from you and receiving your application!
