The Uplands Medical Practice is seeking an enthusiastic and patient focused Salaried GP to join our friendly and supportive team for 3 sessions a week...

Clinical Responsibilities- Conduct face-to-face, telephone, and video consultations.

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Manage urgent on-the-day appointments safely and effectively.
  • Prescribe safely and appropriately within current guidelines.
  • Manage patients with long-term conditions and complex healthcare needs.
  • Undertake home visits where clinically appropriate.
  • Provide health promotion and preventative healthcare advice.
  • Review investigation results and formulate management plans.
  • Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records using EMIS Web.
  • Refer patients appropriately to secondary care and community services.
  • Identify safeguarding concerns and act in accordance with practice policies.
  • Contribute to the achievement of QOF and enhanced service targets.

  • Work in accordance with GMC regulations.
  • Participate in practice meetings and clinical governance activities.
  • Contribute to quality improvement and audit projects.
  • Maintain continuing professional development and mandatory training.
  • Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team.
  • Support training and development of colleagues where appropriate.

Qualifications

Essential

  • MBBS, MBChB or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Full GMC Registration with Licence to Practise.
  • Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List.
  • MRCGP qualification or equivalent.
  • Essential Experience
  • Experience working in UK General Practice.
  • Experience conducting face-to-face consultations.
  • Experience undertaking telephone and video consultations.
  • Experience managing urgent on-the-day appointments.
  • Experience managing long-term conditions and complex patients.
  • Essential Skills and Knowledge
  • Excellent communication and consultation skills.
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic abilities.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage urgent clinical presentations.
  • Sound clinical decision-making and risk management skills.
  • Commitment to delivering patient-centred care.
  • Strong IT skills and experience using clinical systems such as EMIS Web.

Desirable

  • Desirable Experience
  • Experience using EMIS Web.
  • Experience supervising trainees, medical students, or allied health professionals.
  • Participation in service development, audits, or quality improvement projects.
  • Special interest in Diabetes, Respiratory Medicine, Women's Health, Minor Surgery, Care Home Medicine, or Urgent Care.
