Salaried General Practitioner (GP Reimbursement funded)

Working pattern: Part-time 6 sessions, Tuesday,

Wednesday and Friday.

In this role, you will provide high-quality medical care to a diverse

patient population, managing a wide range of acute and long-term conditions

within a general practice setting. You will work closely with a

multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated, patient-centred care while also

contributing to service development and quality improvement within the

practice.

You will have the opportunity to support education and training

activities and play an active role in maintaining and enhancing clinical

standards, alongside contributing to the day-to-day running and future

direction of the practice.

The post holder will be responsible for delivering high-quality general

medical services to the practice population, providing safe, effective, and

patient-centred care in line with current clinical guidelines and best

practice.

Salaried GP key responsibilities include

Undertaking clinical consultations, both face-to-face and remote, for a

wide range of acute and chronic conditions

Assessing, diagnosing, and managing patients appropriately, including

prescribing and referral where necessary

Providing ongoing care for patients with long-term conditions, ensuring

continuity and holistic management

Participating as part of the acute on-call team, responding to urgent

patient needs and supporting same-day access within the practice

Maintaining accurate, timely, and clinically appropriate medical records

Working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to support

coordinated patient care

Participating in practice meetings, clinical governance activities, and

service development initiatives

Contributing to quality improvement, audit, and patient safety processes

Supporting the practices commitment to education, including involvement

in training and mentoring where appropriate

Practice Responsibilities

Teamwork & Collaboration

Work as part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team including GPs, GP

trainees, pharmacists, paramedics,

nurses, HCAs, reception and administrative staff

Actively participate in monthly clinical meetings

Contribute to case discussions, shared learning, and continuous service

development

Provide clinical leadership, advice, and support to colleagues as

appropriate

Education, Training & Development

Maintain full compliance with GMC, CQC, and NHS England standards

The role requires the ability to work both independently and as part of

a team, demonstrating sound clinical judgement, professionalism, and a

commitment to continuous improvement.

Crofton and Sharlston Medical Centre is a friendly and supportive four

partner training practice with nearly 11,000 patients, located on the outskirts

of Wakefield. We have a strong, enthusiastic team consisting of eight GPs and

experienced nursing team, all working together from modern, purpose-built

premises.
