Resuscitation Practice Development Nurse / Paramedic

• Deliver ILS training as an in-house Tutor and provide ward-based in-situ training and assessments
• Support early recognition of the deteriorating patient
• Provide ad-hoc and specialist resuscitation training across Trust teams
• Offer one-to-one support following ILS/BLS training
• Coordinate training activity to maximise compliance
• Oversee resuscitation equipment and maintain administrative records
• Contribute to audit and service improvement activities
• Deputise for the team manager as required

Essential

• Registered Nurse (RGN or dual qualified to include RGN) or Registered Paramedic with current registration with the relevant regulatory body (NMC/HCPC)
• Immediate Life Support (ILS) certification with the Resuscitation Council (UK) OR equivalent
• A recognised teaching qualification, or equivalent demonstrable experience in facilitating learning in a clinical or healthcare setting
• Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to resuscitation and emergency care practice through post-registration training

Desirable

• Basic Life Support (BLS) or Immediate Life Support (ILS) Instructor status with the Resuscitation Council (UK)
• Advanced Life Support (ALS) Provider certification with the Resuscitation Council (UK)
• Paediatric Basic Life Support (PBLS) or Paediatric Immediate Life Support (PILS) certification

Essential

• Significant post-qualification experience in acute, emergency care environment (e.g. emergency department, emergency ambulance) or intensive care settings
• Experience of delivering resuscitation or clinical skills training to staff in a healthcare setting
• Experience of maintaining accurate training or clinical records in accordance with organisational policies and professional guidelines
• Experience of providing constructive feedback to learners following training assessments or clinical observation

Desirable

• Experience of delivering training to non-clinical or diverse staff groups, adapting content and communication style to meet varying learning needs
• Experience of working within or alongside mental health services or a community healthcare setting
• Experience of participating in audit, quality improvement, or service development within a clinical or training environment
• Experience of planning and organising training activities to maximise training uptake and compliance

Essential

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication style to a range of audiences including clinical and non-clinical staff
• Willing and able to travel frequently across Trust sites in order to fulfil the requirements of the role
• Willingness to undertake further qualifications or training relevant to the role, including Instructor level resuscitation courses
• Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service where required, including outside of regular office hours if needed
