The post holder will prioritise, assess, plan, evaluate and deliver all relevant aspects of care to an agreed and expected high standard. Work closely with the multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the clinical governance process. Act as a mentor/preceptor to junior staff, with specific responsibility for pre-registration students. Participate fully in a structured competency based programmes, as required while working in all areas of the Emergency Department.

- NMC registration
Experience & Knowledge

- Experience within an acute trust
- Evidence of mentoring, supporting and developing staff
Desirable
- Previous experience of working within an Emergency Department
- Completion of practice supervisor/accessor or working towards
Skills & Ability

- Ability to assess risks and take appropriate action
- Ability to manage own workload - prioritising and re-prioritising care
Desirable
- Clinical skills such as - venepuncture, cannulation, ECG
Communication

- Ability to overcome barriers to communication
Desirable
- Previous experience in motivating and reassuring patients and staff
