Registered Manager – Children's Residential Home (EBD) Location: Walsall Salary: £55,000–£60,000 per annum (DOE), plus performance-related package (details discussed at shortlist stage) Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Manager to lead the launch of a brand-new 2-bed children's residential home in Walsall, supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This is an exciting opportunity to establish a high-quality service from the ground up, leading the home through Ofsted registration and the initial inspection, recruiting and developing a committed staff team, and creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where children can thrive.
Lead the home through Ofsted registration and the first inspection.Ensure full compliance with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing residential care team.Promote a child-centred, trauma-informed culture that delivers positive outcomes.Oversee safeguarding, care planning, risk management, and behaviour support.Monitor quality assurance systems, including Regulation 44 and Regulation 45 processes.Manage budgets, staffing, rotas, and occupancy in line with organisational objectives.Build positive relationships with local authorities, Ofsted, families, and external professionals.Drive continuous improvement to achieve and maintain a Good or Outstanding Ofsted rating.
Person Specification Essential
Current Ofsted Registered Manager or an experienced Deputy Manager ready to progress into registration.Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).Experience supporting children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).Strong knowledge of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, safeguarding, Regulation 44/45 processes, and safer recruitment.Proven leadership, organisational, and communication skills.Enhanced DBS check.Full UK driving licence and ability to commute to Walsall. Desirable
