Registered Manager – Adult Supported Living
Contract: Permanent, Full-time
Location: St Joseph’s Specialist Trust, Cranleigh, Surrey
Salary: £49,582–£58,088
Hours: 37 hours per week, plus on-call requirement
Lead a team. Champion independence. Make a difference every day.
We are seeking an experienced, passionate and motivated Registered Manager to lead our Adult Supported Living provision for ten tenants across two houses, supporting adults with significant learning disabilities to live fulfilling and meaningful lives.
You will oversee the day-to-day running of the service, providing strong leadership and developing a culture of warmth, safety and accountability. Working closely with senior leaders, therapists, families and external professionals, you will ensure care, lifelong education and therapy are integrated to meet each tenant’s needs.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager committed to person-centred care, staff development and promoting independence. You must have the mental, physical and emotional resilience to meet the demands of the role.
St Joseph’s Specialist Trust is a Catholic community providing education, therapy and care for children and young people with complex learning disabilities, autism and communication needs, alongside residential care and adult supported living services.
Based on a beautiful 23-acre site and within Cranleigh village, Surrey, we are committed to helping individuals achieve their potential, develop independence and enjoy meaningful opportunities throughout their lives. Our mission is: Christ in Our Lives, No Limits, Just Possibilities.
You will be responsible for the effective management and development of our Adult Supported Living service, ensuring high-quality, person-centred support and compliance with CQC requirements.
The Registered Manager role carries personal regulatory accountability alongside the provider for ensuring regulated activities are managed lawfully and in accordance with applicable requirements. This is more than an operational management position.
Leading staff recruitment, induction, supervision, development and performance management.
Ensuring compliance with CQC regulations, safeguarding requirements and relevant legislation.
Overseeing support plans, risk assessments and incident management.
Managing staffing rotas, budgets and resources.
Working with tenants, families, colleagues and external professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
Monitoring service quality and implementing improvements.
Supporting staff to manage complex situations and changes in tenants’ needs.
Participating in agreed on-call arrangements.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced care professional with strong leadership and operational management skills and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of adults with learning disabilities and complex needs.
Experience managing or leading an adult social care service, ideally within supported living.
A strong understanding of adult social care, CQC requirements and safeguarding.
Experience leading and developing staff, managing performance and addressing concerns.
The ability to prioritise, make sound decisions and remain calm under pressure.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A proactive, adaptable approach to leadership and change.
A commitment to dignity, respect, equality, inclusion and person-centred support.
A passion for enabling adults with learning disabilities to develop independence and live fulfilling lives.
A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, or an appropriate equivalent qualification, is expected. Candidates must meet the applicable qualification and suitability requirements for the Registered Manager position.
Previous experience as a CQC-registered manager would be advantageous.
A full UK driving licence is desirable due to the service’s location and limited public transport in Cranleigh.
Lead and develop an adult supported living service within an established charitable Trust.
Make a tangible difference to people’s lives.
Develop a skilled, motivated and supportive team.
Promote person-centred care, independence and wellbeing.
Access professional development and ongoing training.
Benefit from life insurance and a Medical Cashplan.
Access an Employee Assistance Programme with 24/7 wellbeing support.
