- Greet and assist patients with a warm and professional manner
- Manage appointment bookings and patient enquiries efficiently
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality
- Complete tasks assigned to the reception team
- File, print, and distribute prescriptions
- Handle telephone calls and direct them to the appropriate departments
- Manage patient registrations
- Provide administration cover when required
Are you a friendly and organised individual with a passion for helping others? Talybont surgery is looking for a dedicated Receptionist to join our close-knit team. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for handling telephone calls, booking appointments, completing tasks allocated to the reception team, and providing administration cover when needed. Your contribution will be vital in supporting our clinical team and enhancing patient care.

Talybont Surgery is a GP Practice in Pontarddulais committed to providing friendly, comprehensive care to its patients. We have four Partners, two Salaried GPs, two Pharmacists, three Nurses, a HCA, a Mental Health Practitioner and an exceptional administration and reception team. We are a single site and serve approximately 10,000 patients.
Qualifications
Essential: - N/A
Desirable: - Business Admin Level 2 or equivalent
Experience
Essential: - Use of computer systems; - Making and answering telephone calls in a friendly and professional tone
Desirable: - Working in a GP practice; - Use of EMIS, Docman, Accurx, EPS, Teams and Medlink

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt in a varied role
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
Desirable: - Basic Welsh speaking
