- Dealing with patients by phone or in person in a polite, friendly and courteous manner
- Providing information to patients, including test results
- Responding to requests from clinicians, including chaperoning
- Processing correspondence, including new patients registrations
- Opening and closing the surgery in line with practice protocols
- Manage appointment requests both face to face, over the telephone and via online methods
- Receive patients and deal with their queries
- Provide information to patients, including test results
- Deal with general enquiries from hospitals and other external agencies
- Respond to requests from clinicians and staff using organisation systems
- Arrange patient services e.g chaperones, interpreters, hospital transport as needed
- Process correspondence via email, post and file information accordingly
- Process new registrations and changes of address
- Follow systems for receiving, updating and handling confidential patient records
- Liaise with Practice Team to ensure resolution of I.T or security issues
- Follow daily protocols for the secure opening and closing of the Practice
- General admin duties
- Promote and maintain standards relating to CQC including Health and Safety
- Support equality, diversity and the rights of patients and carers
- Maintain strict confidentiality on all matters relating to patients/ carers/ colleagues/ other health workers/ the business of the Practice
- Promote the good reputation of the Practice
- Participate in training programmes as requested to enable the efficient running of the practice and meet any professional minimum competence requirements
- Work in accordance with Practice protocols
- Participate in the annual appraisal process

Experience
Essential: - Experience of working in a customer facing role
Desirable: - Experience of working in a medical practice; - Experience of working in the health service

Essential: - Good standard of general education (GCSE O levels at Grade A-C) or equivalent.; - Good standard of numeracy & literacy
Desirable: - NVQ3/RSA3/AMSPAR or equivalent
