We are seeking a motivated and highly organised Reception Supervisor to lead our Reception team within a busy hospital environment. The post is full t...

You will oversee the day to day running of the reception area, supported by the Reception Manager who works cross site. You will support a team of receptionists and ensure that high standards of customer service and operational efficiency are consistently maintained.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to GCSE (or equivalent) to include English and Maths Grade C or above.
  • NVQ3 admin or proven equivalent experience.
  • Computer literate with ability to undertake additional training on departmental IT and manual systems
  • Evidence of continued professional development to NVQ4 / diploma equivalent to include training and/ or proven experience in :
  • Computerised and manual patient records systems
  • Staff supervision & training
  • Customer care
  • Patient confidentiality and Data Protection

Desirable: - Additional relevant qualifications e.g. IT, risk assessment

Experience

Essential

  • Significant previous experience in an Administration working environment
  • Experience of supervising administration staff
  • Managing conflict in the workplace
  • Experience and understanding of a PAS system
  • Experience and thorough working knowledge of Oasis and the Clinics for OPD
  • Working to tight deadlines and prioritising workload
  • Customer care skills and experience in the NHS
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
  • Understanding of information governance issues and Datix reporting
  • Awareness of patient confidentiality and data protection issues.

Desirable: - Managing rotas for groups of staff; - Experience of dealing with PALS, Complaints and Datix incidents; - Experience of recruitment and selection of staff

Skills

Essential

  • Good interpersonal skills, effective communication with patients and colleagues at all levels within the organisation
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team and motivate staff.
  • Able to work calmly in a pressurised environment
  • Ability to prioritise workload, deal with interruptions
  • Good organisational skills
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the Trust core values.

Desirable: - Shown willingness to plan and adapt to change; - Ability to prioritise conflicting issues and make decisions.
