An exciting 12 months secondment opportunity, has arisen, to work as part of the Specialist Services Care group in the role of Quality and Safety Lead...

The Quality and safety Lead will support the Clinical Services Manager and the wider team to deliver clinical leadership, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, high quality clinical care and consistent achievement of care standards. This will be in line with the nationally agreed 10 key responsibilities set out in the matrons handbook as below:

  • Inclusive leadership, professional standards and accountability
  • Governance, patient safety and quality
  • Workforce planning and resource management
  • Patient experience and reducing health inequalities
  • Performance and operational oversight
  • Digital and information technology
  • Education, training and development
  • Research and development
  • Collaborative working and clinical effectiveness
  • Service improvement and transformation.

The post holder will deliver transformation of clinical services to best meet the needs of the population within the care group. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team the post holder will provide Quality Leadership to facilitate consistent best practice, this will include taking a key role in the future shaping and development of services.

Leadership

Essential

  • Planning and decision making skills. In particular an ability to contribute to strategic planning.
  • Proven ability to create effective working relationships and build teams
  • Experience of working with service users in the health/ social care field which must include community services

Senior operational/clinical experience

Essential

  • Professional qualification (RN, AHP)
  • Extensive experience of working in a clinical setting in a quality, clinical, leadership/managerial position.
  • Evidence of post registration or further professional development in the relevant field.
  • A Leadership / Management Qualification (or equivalent experience)

Desirable

  • Experience of CAMHS
  • Post graduate qualification or experience in associated quality governance roles
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and the legal duties expected of NHS organisations
  • Knowledge and experience of delivering Equality, Diversity and Inclusion agendas

Experience of quality improvement/initiatives

Essential

  • Experience of a quality improvement initiative
  • Awareness of Key Performance indicators to support the achievement of local and national targets.

Desirable

  • QI training at silver level
