Applications are invited for appointment to Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust for subspecialty training in Paediatric Radiology.
The post will be primarily based at Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust. The post is available for a 12-month period, starting from February 2027, but the start date may be flexible for the successful candidate.
The post is open to trainees who will have completed at least 5 years of a Specialist Registrar Training Programme in Radiology by 1stAugust. This is a fellowship position for a fixed term of one year and only available to international candidates with full GMC registration who can provide confirmation of full funding from their home country. For International trainees it would be desirable to have FRCR qualification for entry to the programme. Equivalent qualifications or experience will only be considered if there are no suitable applicants with FRCR qualification. Post-CCT candidates must have proof of CCT.

Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust, sited in West Derby, Liverpool, is one of the largest specialist children's healthcare providers in Western Europe. It has a national and international reputation as a centre of excellence. It is one of a small number of Trusts in the UK providing a comprehensive range of services from those based in the community to supra-regional specialties for children and young people.
Alder Hey provides a range of over 20 specialist services for a total catchment population of 7.6 million. With its local, regional and extra-regional networks, it provides over 209,000 episodes of care each year; 30,000 of these episodes are delivered as inpatients and 70% of this activity is of a specialist or tertiary nature with secondary care provision for the local population accounting for the other 30%.
The new Hospital in the Park building was completed in September 2015 and we have a completely new, state of the art radiology department with fully updated equipment.

Qualifications
Essential
- MBChB or equivalent MRCP, FRCR, GMC Registration
Desirable
- MRCP, FRCS or equivalent, MD or PhD
Experience
Essential
- Minimum of 4 years in recognised training post in Radiology
- Demonstrates interest in, and aptitude for, Paediatric Radiology
Desirable
- Can provide evidence of personal CME, involvement in appropriate audit and research
- Shows an interest in the teaching of Junior team members and students. Demonstrates an understanding of the principles of supervision and delegation and inspires confidence
