The Psychologist will be expected to provide a specialist psychological assessment, formulation and intervention service in this specialty as well as support colleagues working with this client group. As such they will be expected to provide a combination of direct and indirect work.

They will be expected to provide teaching, training, consultation and supervision to colleagues as and when required and lead on Team and Network formulation, Risk Assessment and Management for individuals with complex and specialist needs.

They will be expected to contribute to the research and development agenda inassessment, care and intervention.

As a senior clinician they will be expected to provide clinical leadership in relation to psychological matters and contribute to service development alongside colleagues.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Eligibility for British Psychological Society Chartered status
  • Evidence Evidence of Continuing Professional Development as recommended by the BPS and HCPC

Desirable

  • Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice.
  • Record of publications in peer reviewed or academic or professional journals and/or books.

Registration

Essential

  • HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist

Skills

Essential

  • Clinical supervision training for supervising Doctoral trainees/RAPPS register

Experience

Essential

  • Substantial assessed experience of working as a qualified and senior psychologist, normally including significant post-qualification experience within the designated speciality where the post is located, or relevant transferable skills
  • Exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care, with experience of co-ordinating care within the context of multi-disciplinary care-planning.
  • Providing teaching, training and/or professional and clinical supervision.

Desirable

  • Experience of representing psychology within the context of multi-disciplinary care.
  • Experience of professional management of qualified clinical psychologists and other staff.
