DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with clinicians to provide a responsive, safe, error free, prescription service for patients within the expected timescales
- Managing all prescription requests
- Generating prescription queries noting acute and/or past medications, medication review dates, blood test due etc
- Contacting patients where necessary
- Issuing blood test forms as required
- Expediting urgent requests
- Adding and amending patient medication on EMIS Web as required
- Liaising with local pharmacies as required
- Action instructions received via Docman
- Action tasks from all team members
- DOAC and DMARD blood monitoring based on EMIS searches
- Completion of mandatory training
- Keeping audit figures when requested
- Keeping the office tidy
- Providing holiday and sickness cover
- Anything else that is custom and practice to enable the smooth running of the Practice
- Caring for patients and each other

REPORTING TO
Contracts & Administration manager
We are dynamic, patient focused and high achieving partnership that strives to provide first class care for our 24,000 patients.
Our clinical system is EMIS which integrates with AccuRx to communicate with our patients. Home visiting is supported by our practice Paramedic and Advanced Nurse Practitioner who work alongside the Bromley Healthcare District Nursing team. We are part of a PCN which has several additional practitioners including Clinical Pharmacists, Social Prescribers, a Mental Health Practitioner, First Contact Physiotherapist and Paramedic.
Experience
Essential
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Understanding of confidentiality and data protection
Desirable
- Previous experience in a healthcare, NHS, or administrative setting
- Competent IT skills, including experience using patient management systems (e.g., EMIS) and Microsoft Office.
