The Practice Nurse provides treatment room services (such as cervical screening and immunisations) as well as long-term condition management (such as asthma care and diabetes management).
The post-holder will operate within their own sphere of competence, and agreed acceptable limits of practice, to provide expert professional clinical advice to patients, carers, or colleagues where appropriate.
Long-term condition reviews
- Diabetes management (desirable but not essential for the role)
- Asthma reviews (desirable but not essential for the role)
- COPD reviews (desirable but not essential for the role)
Treatment room services
- Minor illness (desirable but not essential for the role)
- Cervical screening
- Childhood immunisations
- Immunisation and vaccinations
- Travel vaccinations
- Complex dressings
- Ear irrigation
- Contraception and family planning appointments
Riverport Medical Practice is a GMS practice with 13,500 patients. Our three sites in St Ives, Somersham and Fenstanton are rated 'Good' by CQC.
The Practice uses SystmOne clinical system as well as other digital healthcare solutions such as AccuRx.
Riverport Medical Practice works in collaboration with the St Ives Primary Care Network to provide services to patients across St Ives and the surrounding villages.

- Experience working in General Practice

- Minor illness trained
Qualifications
Essential
- NMC registered nurse with General Practice Nursing
Desirable
- Nationally recognised diabetes education programme at postgraduate diploma level
