To be responsible for the production of performance and quality standards within the practice. To manage data quality issues, providing advice and guidance to all practice staff in the use of the clinical system.

To act as practice administrator for the clinical system and as practice co-ordinator for IT Software or hardware issues, working closely ICB and Shared Services

The role also involves working in the back office, carrying out a range of clinical administration tasks to support the wider practice team and ensuring the smooth running of daily operations.

Ensure premises and equipment compliance with legal health and safety and infection control standards

Coordinate business continuity and apply risk management and mitigation Previous reception, administration and/or customer service experience is desirable, along with strong communication skills, the ability to work in a fast paced environment, and good organisation skills.

Walkden Medical Centre, a longestablished and welcoming GP practice in Worsley, Manchester, is seeking an motivated and proactive Practice Administration Coordinator to join our team.

In this pivotal role, you will work closely with the Practice Manager and wider team to deliver a timely, responsive and highquality administrative service. You will help ensure the smooth running of business, clinical and patient-facing operations, while contributing to a positive team culture and the ongoing development of the practice.

  • Clinical Administration Support Carry out a range of back office clinical admin tasks to support the wider team and ensure smooth day to day operations.
  • Clinical System Administration Act as the practice administrator for EMIS and coordinate IT software and hardware issues in collaboration with Shared Services..Assist with user access for EMIS, Docman, ICE and other digital platforms.
  • Medical Notes Summarising and coding Medical notes summarising and coding in EMIS.
  • Contract & Service Delivery Support Assist the Practice Manager with delivery of Direct, National and Local Enhanced Services, QoF, GP contract requirements and PCN indicators.
  • Regulatory Compliance Support the Practice Manager in maintaining compliance with health and safety, infection control, CQC, GDPR and other NHS regulatory frameworks.
  • Performance Auditing Produce performance audits for admin and reception teams to drive continuous improvement.
  • Workflow & Inbox Oversight Oversee workflow processes and manage the shared practice email inbox.
  • Premises & Maintenance Coordination Report and resolve premises maintenance issues and support scheduling for safety and compliance tasks.

Qualifications

Essential: - GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths; - Qualified to NVQ level 2

Desirable: - Formal qualification in IT (e.g. CLAIT, ECDL)

You must have the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, remain calm under pressure and be able to multi-task and show initiative. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team within a busy GP practice, remaining calm under pressure, managing competing priorities, and demonstrating initiative when required. Strong communication and IT skills are essential, with previous experience of EMIS Web, Docman, and GP practice administrative systems being highly desirable. The role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to process clinical and administrative workflows efficiently while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.

Desirable: - Experience of managing admin/reception teams and multidisciplinary services in a GP practice in the UK
