Please note that Porters new to the Trust are required to work on a flexible basis covering a variety of shifts which will include some bank holiday and weekend working. The successful candidates will provide effective / efficient Portering services using all equipment and resources available to the department. Primary duties will be to ensure that patients are transported safely between wards and departments, the collection of all waste streams, delivery and collection of linen to wards and other associated tasks.

- To assist Trust management in the provision of effective / efficient Portering Service using all equipment / resources available to the department
- To provide essential Fire, Rescue Team response to Helipad as required

KNOWLEDGE
Desirable
- Use of electrical equipment including driving of tugs and use of hand-barrows
- Knowledge of Trust sites an advantage
- Knowledge of Portering procedures / systems of operation
SKILLS
Essential
- The post holder should be able to communicate well, have good writing skills and be able to work alone or as part of a team
EXPERIENCE
Desirable
- Experience in customer service
- Portering / Security experience.
- Previous firefighting experience
- Experience in portering tasks including Post sorting
QUALIFICATIONS
Desirable
- NVQ 2 or similar qualifications (educated to Secondary Modern/Comprehensive School level)
