Provide high-quality podiatric assessment, treatment and ongoing management for patients with a range of clinical needs, using evidence-based practice and sound clinical reasoning.
Manage your own clinical caseload effectively, working autonomously while recognising when patients require escalation or input from Highly Specialist Podiatrists and other healthcare professionals.
Work collaboratively with podiatrists, multidisciplinary teams, healthcare professionals and partner organisations to ensure patients receive safe, coordinated and seamless care.
Support the delivery of podiatry services by supervising and delegating appropriate clinical activities to junior clinicians and Podiatry Assistants.
Provide support, guidance and mentorship to podiatry students during clinical placements, contributing to a positive learning environment.
Participate in clinical rotations across CLCH Podiatry Services, supporting both individual professional development and changing service needs.
Manage a domiciliary caseload where required, delivering safe and effective podiatry care within patients' homes.
Work flexibly across clinics and community settings, adapting to a busy and varied workload while maintaining high standards of patient care.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to clinical governance, service development and continuous improvement within the podiatry service.

Education/Qualification
Essential
- BSc Degree In Podiatric Medicine or Diploma (if qualified prior 1991)
- Evidence of continual professional and personal development
- Registration with the Health Professions Council
- Certificate in local anaesthesia
Desirable: - Evidence of post grad training in specialist area of podiatry
Experience
Essential
- Post graduate clinical experience of multidisciplinary and interagency working
- Experience of working with a wide range of patient and disease / pathology types including the at-risk and high-risk foot
- Experience of working as part of a specialist team (clinical rotation experience accepted
Desirable: - Experience of working in an NHS environment; - Experience of clinical supervision / mentoring; - oExperience of service development
Skills and Knowledge
Essential
- Knowledge of recent developments in the profession
- Full knowledge of podiatric theory and practice
- Knowledge of foot orthotic design and manufacture
- Knowledge of RCOP code of conduct
- Awareness of Equal Opportunities - theory and practice
- Understanding of Clinical Governance -theory and practice
- Knowledge of treatment options and skills required in the management of High risk tissue breakdown
- Up-to-date knowledge of clinical issues and treatment development
- Effective oral, listening and written communication in order to negotiate and persuade patients and carers compliance and commitment to their treatment and care plans
- Ability to evaluate patients concerns and needs and propose effective solutions
- Ability to undertake intricate work in using sensitive diagnostic tools and a range of surgical instruments. e.g. in the management and debridement of poor tissue viability wounds and nail surgery
- Organisational and planning skills to manage your own work time and domiciliary caseload
- To be competent in the use of treatment and diagnostic tools (including, Doppler, scalpel techniques, syringe etc)
- IT Skills including use of Internet, e-mail, Word Processing
Desirable: - Presentation Skills / Experience at delivering Health Promotion; - Ability to manufacture simple insoles

- Ability to cope with a busy demanding and varied workload able to cope with the demands of moving between sessional clinics, on foot, by transport. This may include carriage of clinical equipment on home visits.
- Performing clinical treatments in physically restricted work positions requiring repetitive fine movements
