To be responsible for the management of own designated caseload of patients and to maintain up to date physiotherapy records.
To use evidence based principles and current best practise to assess, plan, implement and evaluate physiotherapy interventions and ensure that all members of the designated team do likewise.
To provide day to day line management of a designated team.
To provide supervision, teaching and support to more junior staff, therapy assistants and students on placement.
To participate in CPD and other developmental activities and encourage all members of designated team to do likewise.
To work with relevant multi-disciplinary team (MDT) colleagues, long integrated care pathways to deliver best practice and propose changes in practice in light of new evidence and maintain high service profile.
To ensure adherence to Trust policy and guidelines at all times

Education and Qualifications
Essential
- BSc or Diploma in Physiotherapy
- HCPC registration
- Postgraduate education/courses in Musculoskeletal physiotherapy within the last year
- Relevant level 7 or equivalent qualifications (achieved or currently working towards)

- Evidence of Band 6 or equivalent in musculoskeletal outpatients
- Evidence of band 5 or equivalent experience in a broad range of rotations including musculoskeletal and orthopaedics.
- Evidence of appraisal, supervision and teaching of Band 5 physiotherapists, assistants, students and other members of the MDT
- Experience of working as part of an MDT in clinical practice
- Evidence of active participation in in-service training
- Evidence of active involvement of service development
- Experience in the UK or an equivalent public healthcare system
Desirable
- Evidence of previous experience at Band 7 (or equivalent level) in musculoskeletal outpatients.
- Evidence of appraisal of band 6 level staff
- Team leader experience
- Evidence of working in a variety of MSK services e.g. A&E, GP Practices, Rheumatology, Orthopaedic clinics
