As a valued member of the Operose Health team, your key duties will include obtaining blood samples of the appropriate quality, taken with minimal stress to patients, which will help with patients diagnosis and treatment. Accurately labelling samples and preparing them for collection to the pathology department for analysis. Making appropriate notes in the patients record. Taking blood is a special skill, which requires patience and the ability to engage with both adults and children. You need to have a calm approach and to have had experience in a clinical environment and be able to care for people if distressed. The ideal candidate will have experience in a primary care setting and phlebotomy, completed a recognised phlebotomist training course, excellent patient care and bedside manner, and the ability to explain procedures clearly to patients. An understanding of infection control and sterilization practices is essential, as well as familiarity with medical procedures and the ability to follow protocols.

  • Must be familiar with medical procedures and able to follow protocols.

Essential
