The People Officer provides a comprehensive administrative and advisory service within the People Team, acting as the first point of contact for staff enquiries across the Trust. The role involves providing guidance on people policies, procedures and terms and conditions of employment, resolving routine queries and escalating more complex matters where appropriate.
We are looking for someone who is able to work on their own initiative, prioritise and organise their own workload and communicate effectively with staff of all levels within the organisation to resolve concerns and queries, provide advice and guidance and know when to escalate to senior staff.

NHFT is an integrated primary care and mental health Trust, providing physical, mental health and specialty services in both hospital settings and out in the community. Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- RSA III/NVQ 3 in administration or equivalent admin experience OR CIPD Level 3 or equivalent experience
- Proficient in word processing and in depth knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
- Knowledge of a range of administration and HR procedures acquired through relevant on the job training and experience
Desirable: - Knowledge or experience of HR systems and policies
Skills and Abilities
Essential
- Able to co-ordinate a busy office environment, and produce high quality work with a focus on attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to manage meeting minutes, actions and agendas
- Ability to provide and receive sensitive and confidential information, that may require tact
