The Projects & Operations Manager will work with the Executive Team and member practices to lead delivery of PCN and Federation projects and services from initiation to completion, ensuring effective planning, coordination and implementation to achieve agreed aims and objectives.

The role includes direct line management of Project Officers and ARRS staff (including social prescribers and nutritional therapists), ensuring delivery remains on track, risks are identified early, and project plans are progressed effectively.

The post holder will work across multiple programmes simultaneously, coordinating stakeholders, managing risks and supporting the ongoing development of innovative, sustainable services for member practices and local populations.

Interviews for this role will take place as follow:

  • Friday 14th September - initial screening calls on Teams (15 mins)
  • If successful, formal face-to-face interviews will take place on Thursday 18th and 21st September

The following are the core responsibilities of the Projects & Operations Manager. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels.

Leadership & Line Management

  • Direct line management of Project Officers and ARRS staff (e.g. social prescribers, nutritional therapists or equivalent roles).
  • Provide oversight of performance, workload, supervision arrangements and operational delivery.

Project Management & Delivery

  • Lead scoping, initiation, delivery, implementation and evaluation of projects and services.
  • Develop mobilisation plans, setting milestones, deadlines and allocating responsibilities.
  • Monitor progress, manage dependencies and adjust plans as required.
  • Coordinate project meetings, actions and reporting requirements.
  • Identify and manage risks and issues, supporting resolution and mitigation.
  • Evaluate effectiveness, outcomes and impact of projects and services.
  • Contribute to business cases, option appraisals and service development proposals.
  • Ensure appropriate project documentation, governance and reporting are in place.
  • Support strategic planning, identifying interdependencies, resource requirements and contingencies.
  • Demonstrate value for money and support delivery of cost-effective services.
  • Identify opportunities for service improvement, innovation and transformation.

Operational Management

  • Provide day-to-day operational oversight of projects and services.
  • Support the management of operational queries, inboxes and escalations.
  • Coordinate problem-solving across services, teams and stakeholders.
  • Assist with the implementation of new systems, processes and service improvements.
  • Coordinate service resources, venues, equipment and logistical requirements.
  • Support organisational submissions, returns and reporting requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Lead meetings with external stakeholders relating to project delivery and service development.
  • Represent CHE in operational and project-related discussions with external stakeholders, commissioners, and practices.

Financial Management

  • Support identification and procurement of goods, services and equipment, ensuring value for money and stakeholder engagement.
  • Oversee purchase orders and ensure expenditure remains within agreed limits.
  • Contribute to funding bids, proposals and financial planning for projects.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Collate and analyse performance, activity and workforce data.
  • Support completion of PCN and federation submissions and statutory returns.
  • Contribute to financial monitoring and reporting of projects and services.
  • Produce reports and insight to support decision-making, governance and performance oversight.
  • Support data collection and reporting using the clinical system EMIS where appropriate.

External NHS West and North London ICB, Local Providers (C&I, CNWL, RFL, LBC, UCLH), NCL Federations, NCL PCNs, NCL STP, PPGs, Suppliers.

Camden Health Evolution (CHE) Ltd is a GP Federation that supports the Central Camden Primary Care Network (PCN). The PCN consists of 8 member practices, serving a registered population of approximately 80,000 patients.

All practices within the PCN are members of the CHE GP Federation, sharing its vision, mission, values, and key priorities. The PCN is highly innovative, delivering services with the support of CHE, aimed at improving the quality of care and outcomes for patients.

  • Extensive experience working in the NHS, including either in Primary Care, or with close ties to Primary Care

  • Experience of managing risks and reporting
  • Experience of drafting briefing papers and correspondence at Executive Level

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or significant experience of working at a similar level in specialist area
  • Knowledge of project management principles
  • Evidence working within the NHS
  • Evidence of continued professional development

Desirable

  • Post-graduate degree in Management Studies or equivalent
  • Project and/or Programme Management Qualification (PRINCE2 or equivalent)
  • NHS Leadership Academy Programme

Knowledge

Essential

  • Basic knowledge of available local health services
  • Appreciation of the relationship between NHS Bodies, including GP Practices, Federations, PCNs, ICBs, STPs and NHS England

Desirable

  • Good local knowledge of health landscape and population needs
  • Understanding of local and national strategic priorities
  • Understanding of local culture between practices and other providers
