University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust are delighted to be recruiting a Pathology Network Education Trainer to support pathology training wi...
To be considered for the role you must be suitably qualified (see Person Specification) and have significant experience and knowledge in working in a hospital pathology laboratory. The Southern Counties Pathology Network is looking to recruit Education Trainers across a variety of specialisms across all its member Trusts to support a range of training opportunities and to increase the number of Trainees and Biomedical Scientists having the opportunity to undertake either a Registration or Specialist Portfolio.
The role will involve working with the UHD Pathology training officers as well as other Network Education Trainers and Regional Pathology Workforce Education Leads supporting both registration and specialist portfolios. The successful applicant will also support all other staff with CPD opportunities.
This post is predominantly training-focused, but the post holder will be expected to ensure they maintain their own laboratory competencies and personal CPD.
Informal visits are actively encouraged, come see the laboratory and meet the team.
You will play a leading part in the training of all placement students, Level 2, 4 and 6 Apprentices leading to Registration Portfolio within the Trust, as well as collaborating with other Pathology Network Education Trainers within the Southern Counties Pathology Network to support training Specialist Portfolio candidates. You will also work closely with Southern Counties Pathology Network workforce lead and Regional Pathology Workforce Education Leads. This will include managing the competency records, departmental training documents and demonstrating and promoting the increased training offer within your laboratory and across the Network.
University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust is a high performing Trust with hospitals based in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole and provides services for local people within the East Dorset area. As this post was implemented for the Southern Counties Pathology Network you will be required to work across sites, within the Network as dictated by service needs to support training across the Network. All departments across the Network have or are seeking IBMS training approval, are ISO 15189:2012 accredited and encourage professional development.
Our values define who we are as #TeamUHD. They underpin everything we do now and in the future. They define how we treat our patients, visitors, and each other, our valued teammates and colleagues.
UHD are investing in services across the Trust, with many being transformed and developed following merger and the New Hospital Programme.
This means that some services may move site this year or next, either temporarily or long term. Recruiting Managers interviewing for this role will be happy to answer any specific questions that you have about this at interview.
If a role or service relocates as part of a planned move, excess mileage will not be reimbursed. Travel from home to the new work base will be classed as a normal commute. Any other changes will be managed under Trust or national terms and conditions.
