Clinical.

1.

To provide a client centred nutrition & dietetic service to children and their carers at various locations according to need.

To participate in the team approach to the care of individuals referred to the service and attend specialist paediatric multidisciplinary clinics as appropriate.

To attend multidisciplinary team meetings across the health community as required.

To liaise with the wider multi-disciplinary teams within the trust and the health community to ensure the dietetic needs of clients can be met.

To provide clinical knowledge and expertise to the wider multidisciplinary teams based on a sound knowledge of evidence-based practice.

To accurately collect relevant activity data required for service monitoring, management, and evaluation.

7.

To develop evidence based dietary information in conjunction with other members of the dietetic team.

To provide cover for dietetic colleagues as appropriate.

9.

To work with other members of the dietetic and catering teams to develop menus to meet the needs of inpatients.

The team is based at the hospital and provides a comprehensive service to inpatients on our paediatric ward as well as to outpatients in clinics, community clinics and at home.

We support MDT clinics for patients with diabetes, cystic fibrosis, coeliac disease and allergy, and provide a service to children and young people who are enterally fed.

As a Trust and a team, we fully support flexible working; staff are provided with laptops to support them to work remotely. We can consider flexible working arrangements around the needs of the service.

The dietetic team is small and friendly team of 28 staff including Dietitians, Assistant Dietetic Practitioners, a Nutrition Support Nurse and an Administrative Assistant.

  • Ability to effectively fulfil the travel requirements for the post.

Qualifications

Essential

  • HCPC registered
  • Postgraduate training relevant to the role

Experience

Essential

  • Significant post graduate dietetic experience in an NHS acute and community setting
  • Experience working with children and young people individuals who require oral and artificial nutrition support
  • Experience of developing and delivering presentations
  • Experience of supervising dietetic students on practice placement

Desirable

  • Experience of working with children with Type 1 diabetes
  • Experience of managing staff
