  • The post holder will be a highly experienced specialised paediatric audiologist who will provide paediatric audiological evaluation and rehabilitation, including aetiological investigations.
  • They will be involved in managing the operation of the Paediatric Audiology Service.
  • The post holder will provide clinical supervision and training to junior members of staff, work autonomously, should show initiative and manage own caseload
  • The post holder should already hold, or be working towards Clinical Scientist registration with the HCPC or registration with the AHCS.

Education/ qualifications

Essential

  • Clinical Registration
  • MSc or equivalent
  • 1st / 2nd class Hons degree or equivalent
  • Paediatric audiology qualification or training

Desirable

  • PhD
  • On Higher Specialist Scientist register
  • Leadership qualification

Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience in specialist area.
  • Experience of training Scientific, Medical and technical staff.
  • High level of knowledge of all aspects of specialist subject.
  • Evidence of active CPD

Desirable

  • Ability to learn from experience.
  • Peer reviewed research publications

Skills/knowledge/ abilities

Essential

  • High level of technical competence and ability to supervise staff in specialist service
  • Knowledge of current trends in Audiology provision.
  • Competence in PC word processing, spreadsheet and database software

Desirable

  • Ability to carry out development projects
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Ability to develop personal IT skills as required.
