- An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 7 nurse or Band 6 nurse looking to advance your career.
- As the lead nurse for level 1 critical care, you will work alongside the paediatric critical care consultant, paediatric matron and senior staff.
- This role requires that you have not only significant experience in level 1 paediatric critical care but also the leadership and management skills. to ensure any guidelines or policies required to support the paediatric critical care service are developed and implemented across all paediatric areas.
- Whilst this post is based within the paediatric unit the successful applicant will be required to work very closely with the paediatric emergency department team.
- We are seeking an individual who is proactive, innovative, and able to work collaboratively and independently to develop a co-ordinated and responsive service for our patients.
- Although this role generally requires a weekday work pattern, there will be a need for the successful applicant to work flexibly clinically and to support practice.
- As a senior nurse in this specialist role, you will be well organised and able to work both independently and as part of a team. You will be computer literate. Using these skills, you will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure the paediatric service is able to provide children and their families with the highest possible standards of care within an ever changing and challenging environment.
The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute Hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. The Trust's services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, delivered at a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit and outpatient clinics.

Essential
- Mentorship in Practice or other teaching qualification
- Minimum two years band 6 experience
- Awareness of importance of audit or research in improving care
Desirable
- Proven ability to manage own workload and that of others
- Evidence of managing change
- Previous experience of working in a dedicated paediatric critical care / high dependency care environment.
