We currently have a vacancy for a Paediatric Clinical Research Nurse to oversee the setup, delivery and management of our portfolio of studies mainly ...

  • As a Band 6 research nurse you will be involved in assessing and managing care pathways for participants in research: including, recruitment, education and monitoring of research subjects
  • Providing support for research participants and their families and the accurate collection and documentation of data.
  • You will work collaboratively with colleagues in the research team and the wider multidisciplinary team, to support existing clinical trials and studies.
  • You will also require a working knowledge and compliance with local, national and international research regulations including Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

Education

Essential

  • Registered nurse
  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject area or equivalent experience

Desirable

  • RSCN/RN (child)
  • Non-medical prescribing
  • Advanced practice qualification

Experience

Essential

  • Minimum of 2 year at band 5 in a relevant clinical area
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Desirable

  • Knowledge of National Institute of Health Research (NIHR), its values, aims and structure
  • Experience in managing complex information
  • Proven participation in the consent process for patients entering clinical trials
  • Clinical Research and audit experience

Skills

Essential

  • Be able to demonstrate knowledge of specialist patient group
  • Proven teaching and assessing skills
  • Able to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a small team, as well as part of the wider multidisciplinary team

Desirable

  • Change management skills and involvement in project work
  • Evidence of accuracy to detail in data collection
  • Knowledge of clinical research methodology and trial protocols
