To work as a member of a flexible team, ensuring all out-patient reception areas are manned at all times. The role involves welcoming patients, carers, relatives and visitors into the new Community Diagnostic Centre by acting as the first point of contact for patients attending the Trust.
The post holder will undertake timely validation of patients' key demographics and information, accurately record the outcome of the appointment and make return appointments as directed by clinicians.
This role is vital to support patient safety and Trust income.

Qualifications
Essential
- NVQ 3 or equivalent experience
- Customer service qualification or equivalent experience
Desirable
- ECDL or equivalent
- Customer service level 2
- Patient Administration System Training Outpatient Booking Agree to work towards
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Working in a Reception environment (preferably in a Health related service)
- Experience in Customer Service
- Working to deadlines.
- Use of IT systems.
- Microsoft office
Desirable
- Experience of working in hospital or related service within the NHS
Skils and aptitudes
Essential
- Methodical worker.
- Ability to concentrate and work accurately.
- Work well as part of a team.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Good keyboard skills to enable accurate data capture
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with colleagues both inside and outside the department
- Act on your own initiative
Desirable
- Good knowledge and skills in the use of NHS computer technology inc PAS system
Other requirements
Essential
- Flexibility to work all the shifts and change role to cover all areas dependent on the needs of the department.
- Flexibility to work at other sites as required
