This is an exciting opportunity to join our team in the Cancer Centre as an Operations and Performance Manager.
We are seeking an ambitious, motivated and highly collaborative Cancer Operations & Performance Manager to play a pivotal role in ensuring patients receive timely, high-quality cancer care. This is an opportunity to directly influence performance, patient outcomes and service improvement across one of the Trust's most strategically important portfolios.
As Operations & Performance Manager, you will provide operational leadership and performance management expertise to support the delivery of national cancer standards, recovery ambitions and Trust objectives.
Working closely with clinical leaders, operational teams, divisional management, data analysts and system partners, you will lead performance improvement initiatives, identify opportunities to streamline patient pathways and drive sustainable change across cancer services.
You will translate complex performance information into meaningful actions, ensuring that operational decisions are informed by robust data, intelligence and a clear understanding of patient impact.
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to improving access to diagnosis and treatment, reducing variation, enhancing patient experience and supporting better outcomes for patients affected by cancer.
In this role, your key responsibilities will include managing administrative and MDT teams within the cancer centre and MDT team. Deliver appraisal and oversee mandatory training requirements for all staff within these teams. Assist in the validation of cancer performance management to ensure adherence to cancer waiting times guidance.
Support the governance arrangements within the team including audit, complaints, incidents, risk and health and safety.
To be responsible to the Cancer Centre Manager for financial performance relating to delegated budgets and operational performance of the MDT team

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a track record of performance driven service management experience in the NHS and will be looking for the opportunity to develop their skills.

Qualifications, knowledge and experience
Essential
- First degree/equivalent professional qualification/equivalent experience
- Leadership training
- Management training
- Training and experience to Masters' or equivalent level/post graduate level study
- Project Management qualification / further training or demonstrates substantial level of project delivery experience
- Consolidated experience to demonstrate capability and capacity for management of health services at a senior level
- Demonstrable staff and resource management experience across a range of a variety of issues
- Able to facilitate and implement policy, guidelines and projects from initiation to completion
- Demonstrates experience of managing challenging problems by developing practical workable solutions to address them.
- Ability to communicate vision to staff and manage change effectively.
Desirable: - Previous proven experience in a healthcare setting
