This is a full time, permanent role with hybrid working, and a salary of £26,895 - £30,132 per annum.
The Occupational Therapy Assistant role is within the Front Door Team which consists of Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, and Social Care Practitioners.
The Front Door Team is where people begin their journey with Adult Social Care. It is the place where we listen first, understand what matters, and work alongside residents to find the right support at the right time. We work with adults across the borough who may be experiencing changes in their health, independence, or wellbeing. This includes people living with physical or sensory impairments, age-related conditions, mental health needs, neurodivergence, or substance use challenges. Our role is to offer early, short-term support, helping people regain confidence, maintain independence, and stay connected to their communities.
Your role will involve
- Assessments and interventions for residents with physical disabilities, not excluding cognitive decline.
- Working with other professionals to support identified outcomes.
- Holding and managing a case load.

To deliver Statutory Services to people who meet the eligibility
criteria of the Care Act 2014, by supporting the assessment of their needs and
arranging support in meeting their outcomes and needs. To utilize services
within the community optimizing independence of residents, especially to enable
them to remain within their own home or return to their own home following a
hospital admission or other placement.
To support the management of equipment resources required to deliver a
safe and preventative service to RBWM residents exiting hospital in the
community.

To ensure assessment and delivery of services is within the eligibility criteria and within budget constraints.
To maintain comprehensive and up to date case records that demonstrate good practice and evidence that RBWM is discharging its duties in accordance with relevant legislation.
To provide appropriate advice, support, and advocacy to ensure that peoples best interests are maintained.
To manage and be accountable, with supervision and support, for own practice and to take responsibility for own professional development including mandatory training.
To attend meetings relating to the work of the team or work with the individual as required.
To work within the requirements of relevant legislation, the national agenda, and the Policies and Procedures of RBWM as appropriate to the responsibilities of the post.
To contribute positively to the performance of the team, service, and unit, by being aware of, and contributing to achieving key performance targets. To assist in the collection of data that demonstrates levels of performance and supports good performance management.
To be part of the team duty function.
To manage the Peripheral equipment stores in Windsor and Maidenhead with effective communications between colleagues and NRS under the supervision of an OT.
To manage the monthly support meeting for OTAs across RBWM to reflect on practice and identify training needs.

Experience
Essential
- Experience working within health, social care, occupational therapy, or a related support role.
- Be passionate about supporting adults to maintain their independence and remain safe within their communities.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with individuals, families, carers, and partner agencies.
