Each rotation is for 6 months however the post holder may be required to rotate at an earlier or later date depending on service need.

To manage own caseload, assess plan and implement and evaluate interventions using evidence based/best practice, working towards patient centred goals in the context of the speciality and as part ofthe multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • HCPC Registration

Experience

Essential

  • Application of OT process and core OT skills including functional assessment and activity analysis.
  • Experience and Knowledge of working / student placements in a mental health and physical setting.
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development including reflective practice and Clinical Learning.
  • Awareness of evidence based practice and knowledge of research methodology
  • Working knowledge of models of practice, and current best practice.
  • Knowledge of national policies for Equality and diversity and inclusion and the implementation in practice.
  • Awareness of Relevant current legislation, including NICE guidelines, clinical / environmental risk assessment and risk management relevant to rotation areas.

Desirable

  • Working Knowledge of group work theory and practice.
  • Working knowledge of standardised assessment tools and outcome measures

Skills

Essential

  • Good organisational ability: self-management, flexible approach and use of initiative.
  • Ability to work as an effective team member both with the OT team and the MDT.
  • To actively participate in own supervision, critically appraise own performance and use of feedback constructively
  • Skills in assessment of basic activity participation and identification of needs and problems that informs goal setting, planning and interventions.
  • Ability to travel between sites and within the community to client homes

Desirable

  • Training and presentation skills

Essential

  • Able to demonstrate a strong professional identity and practice in line with HCPC standards of proficiency for Occupational Therapy
